Ching Chu graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016, and began her contemporary dance training at the age of 24. She graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance in 2024. Currently she is developing an artistic practice that integrates choreographic, conceptual, and research-based approaches. She focuses on score- and task-based structures with mixed media, to inquire about female subjectivity and to attempt to open up alternative perspectives for navigating gender norms in our contemporary life.
Recent creative engagements: How to Build a ________ (Work-in-Progress), solo performance presented in Frankfurt Moves! residency programme supported by Frankfurt LAB and KfW Foundation; Shifting Still, Solo performance presented in Danceless Choreographic Platform in Danceless Complex 2026; My Body is a Battlefield, and These are My Armours, a creative research presentation presented in FIRST creation Platform, Freespace Dance Festival 2025; I Dance in This Outfit, a short solo piece presented in Nodes, a 6-piece dance programme by E-side Dance Company; Bedtime Stories, one-on-one performance in Movement Festival 2024 at Eaton Hotel; Ollín, a cross-disciplinary sonic group performance collaborated with the Sound Artist Vica Pacheco, presented in Freespace Noise Fest 2024, as workshop co-leader, Choreographer and Performer; Cooperative Fantasies, Unlock Body Lab: dance-to-be 2023, presented by Unlock Dancing Plaza.
Performative engagements include: No Time to Die - An Inert Liquid Assembly, a cross-disciplinary dance performance co-produced by Freespace Dance Festival 2025 and No Discipline Limited (as Creative Performer); manτεία, Multi-media and cross-disciplinary performance written and produced by MBow (Roberto Alonso Trillo and Peter Nelson), 2024; Mountain and Water, performance artwork by Tong Wenmin in HICCUP — a festival of body and sound co-presented by Tai Kwun Contemporary, Contemporary Musiking Hong Kong (Sound Forms), and Per.Platform (as Performer); Our Mountains & Seas 2049 VR Theatre, co-presented by Star & Dust Collective and Leisure and Cultural Services Department ‘New Energy’ Series (as Creative Performer), 2023; Rosy View of Words, live performance associated with video installation It All Begins With A Word in the New Vision Arts Festival 2021 (as Performer).
於2016年畢業於香港中文大學藝術系，24歲開始接受現代舞訓練，並於2024年畢業於香港演藝學院，主修現代舞。朱氏現時正發展融合編舞、概念及研究型方法的藝術實踐，以行動譜及任務式指令結合混合媒介，探討女性主體性，並嘗試為應對當代生活中的性別規範拓展替代思維與視角。
近期編創項目有：於Frankfurt LAB及KfW基金共同籌辦Frankfurt Moves! 國際駐留計劃內發表個人表演創作《如何建造_______》（階段展演）；非關舞蹈編創平台發表個人舞蹈作品《Shifting Still》東邊舞蹈團節目《延點》演出個人短篇作品《I Dance in This Outfit》；西九自由舞2025 FIRST創作平台發表創作研究《My Body is a Battlefield, and These are My Armours》；舞動節2024參與式作品《睡前故事》；自由空間耳震盪2024與聲音藝術家Vica Pacheco合作創作跨媒介群體演出《Ollín》，作工作坊共同帶領人、編舞及表演者；不加鎖舞踊館創作研究計劃Unlock Body Lab: dance-to-be 2023 《想像實現協作社》；《All the Tired Horses》發表於香港演藝學院舞蹈學院編舞工作坊2023「塑色譜」作品展演。
參與演出項目包括：西九自由舞2025及No Discipline Limited共同製作跨界別舞蹈演出《點石成液》中作創作舞者；《manτεία》由MBow（Roberto Alonso Trillo & Peter A C Nelson）編寫和製作多媒體及跨領域劇場作；由大館當代美術館、現在音樂（第七屆聲形聲音藝術節 ）及首次合作的Per.Platform 合辦關於身體及聲音的展演節目《HICCUP》中由行為藝術家童文敏創作的行為作品《山水》中作表演者之一；康樂及文化事務處署新能量系列2023虛擬實驗劇場《山海二零四玖》作演員之一；新視野藝術節2021多媒體裝置展覽《See字進入》現場演出作品之一《倒影中字》的演繹舞者。
